PRE-PRODUCTION

We will sit down with you to discuss all aspects of your video production needs including target audience, prime objectives and of course, budgets. We then work with you to create a storyboard, determine what visual and audio materials will be required and help create an action plan and a timeline to create the finished product on time and within budget.

Specific activities include:

  • developing a polished script based on your stated objectives that will properly capture the objectives and appeal to the target audience of the video
  • developing a shoot plan based on the script
  • creating a list of all supplementary materials such as still photographs (we can do the photography for you), relevant animations that you may already have or that can be sourced online from websites such as Pond5, appropriate music and sound effects if required
  • providing samples of professional voice over artists

PRODUCTION

As its name suggests, the production stage is where all the materials are created. Those materials would include the raw video footage, still photography (if required), graphics, and intro and exit video splashes which are typically very short branding clips that feature your name, logo and contact information.

POST-PRODUCTION

Post production is one of the most critical stages of video production and it’s where much of the magic happens. With your finished script as our road map, all visual and audio materials are optimized, the applicable footage is selected, appropriate music is selected, a draft narration of the script is recorded and an initial rough cut or draft of the video is produced.

We submit this draft for your evaluation and once we receive your feedback, we incorporate any changes, additions or deletions that you desire and create the final product.

SCRIPT WRITING

Script writing…ugh! It’s typically the least favourite part of video production. But it’s critical to the success of a video or film, and there’s a lot more involved in effective script writing than many people realize.

Obviously it requires excellent writing skills, including the ability to be concise while also making it easy to understand. It also requires the knack for writing for narration as opposed to writing material that will only be read in silently in the mind. That means that a script writer must have a feel for the appropriate cadence of the spoken word for each particular project, and of course, to be able to write in a manner that provides comfortable breathing spaces for narrators and actors.

Finally, effective script writing also requires a solid understanding of how videos and films are produced and edited.

We’ve been producing and scripting marketing and promotional videos since 1998. We’ve also produced and scripted a number of short films and seven feature length documentary films.

TRANSCRIPTION

Adding a transcription to your videos will improve SEO!

Search engines can’t watch a video or listen to audio but they do index text. Transcripts represent the spoken content in video or audio files. Posting transcripts on your YouTube videos allow search engines to absorb your multimedia content and index it accordingly.

Without some help, Google can’t tell much about your video aside from the title and tags that you provide when you upload it. By having your video transcribed, and uploading that transcript to YouTube, you’re giving Google specific information about the content of your video. When someone searches for a phrase mentioned in the video, Google will be able to include your video in the search results, and may even start the video playing at the point where that search phrase is used.

Adding transcripts also provides more targeted keywords and keyword phrases.
